Evolution of Zelda.


All the Zelda games are known to be high – fantasy action – adventure game. The game series is created by Japanese designers. The first Legend of Zelda game was released on the 21st of February 1986. All of the Zelda’s that have been made have been published by Nintendo. The first Zelda was a 2D top down game where you would use strategy to get around the map. The game was made to be played on the Famicom Disk System.famicom disk system

The Zelda series went 3D with the release of Ocarina of Time. This game was released in 1998. The reason why Zelda went 3D is they had received feedback from players for 5 years to make the game 3D. In the Ocarina of Time you play as Link and set out on a quest to stop a person called Ganondorf, king of the Gerudo tribe. Link travels through time and goes through dungeons to awake the sages. The sages had the power to seal Ganondorf forever. Within this game music plays a very important role. The player needs to learn to play songs on the Ocarina during the game.

The most recent Zelda called Breath of the Wild, was released on the 3rd March 2017. This game was published by Nintendo, Nintendo Switch and Wii U video game consoles. The story is about Link (the main character) has awoken from a 100 year slumber and finds himself being guided by a mystery voice to defeat Calamity Ganon. The game is playable on the Nintendo Switch and the Wii U. The first week that Zelda Breath of the Wild came out it manage to sell almost 1.5 million copies worldwide.

The target audience for every Zelda game that had been released is everybody. People of all ages play this game. Players love the fantasy, action, role – playing and puzzles that are in the game.
